The current situation.
The recent acquisition by ICG has opened up a lot more possibility for us and our Digital & Technology teams. Technology has been a key part in the growth of our business since 2016, when we acquired a number of data products that enabled us to provide better information to our network.
Since that time, we have expanded the technology team to eight people and selected fantastic third parties to work with. It doesn’t stop there, with an apetitite to continue this growth and support the business as develops. Our next phase is to make some key hires across our Management team to ensure that our roadmaps for the next few years are robust.
A key hire, we are looking for an experienced Development Manager to oversee the software development delivery for Pageant. You’ll bring your engineering leadership skills to the table, acting as a key contributor to management team discussions on how technology can support the business.
What ‘Development Manager’ means to us.
As a member of the Management team, you have a key role in shaping the future of the Digital & Technology services and teams here at Pageant. A key objective will be to design the software roadmap for the development team, working closely with the product team to create and implement this. You will oversee the design, quality and delivery of this roadmap, managing the team to ensure the output reflects the agreed vision for technology.
This is a hands on role; our managers enjoy remaining close to projects, and will be able to translate requirements between the development team and the board, while making strategic, technical decisions.
You will also help to coach and support the wider team, creating an inspiring team environment creating a collaborative environment and encouraging the team to volunteer new ideas.
Responsibilities will include.
Owning the technical architecture and solutions as part of a delivery roadmap
Leading and managing the internal and remote Software Development team
Presenting and recommending ideas for improvements and upgrades
Review project progress and overview of the performance of all team individuals
Facilitate the smooth delivery of all team projects, enhancements and support
Promote secure by design’ principles where appropriate
Ensuring good quality code is being written from complex custom code and new integrations, to refactoring existing code and simple bug fixes
Creating a focus on quality with small incremental changes and frequent delivery
Ensuring testing at code, component and service level provides coverage to enable reliable quality delivery
Ensuring a code review process is in place and followed
Working with the transformation team to build new products and extend existing products to serve these without losing quality
