Reporting to the New York-based Production Editor, the Production Assistant will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Design, Editorial, and sales and marketing teams. The Production Assistant will work with external vendors and independent Authors, Editors, Editorial Board Members and Copy Editors in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Assist Production Editor with all aspects of publishing 400+ articles and more than 50 journal issues annually.
Help coordinate special issues, issue lineups, and early online articles.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-level quality at each stage of production.
Collaborate with authors, editors, copyeditors, and compositors throughout the copyediting, composition, and page-proof review processes.
Ensure compliance with Chicago Manual of Style and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
Initiate monthly issue deposits to the Library of Congress.
Aid with submission site maintenance, including helping Authors, Editors and Reviewers troubleshoot.
Update and maintain daily journal production schedule status reports.
Collaborate on special projects as needed.
Identify areas to improve production process and publishing best practices.

Understanding of journals indexing, ranking, and impact factors a plus
